The art of Etegami --​

This artform is truly magic. It's multidimentional.

Etegami allows you to relax and let go of control, cure "perfectionism", calm nerves, and it allows you to disconnect from the mundane of the world. While painting an Etegami, you connect to the subject, noticing intricacies that we don't usually notice as we navigate our busy lives.

Just after a short practice, you will be able to delight yourself and your friends with illustrated postcards in the japanese style of Etegami.

Anna Guettabi, your teacher, will explain to you the tools, basic techniques, and how you can fit Etegami in your life and even use it to connect with others!

You will create two cards to take home with you.

Please bring these supplies with you (you can get them at Blaine's Art with 10% off):

​

• Set of blank watercolor cards or cold press watercolor paper cut

• into greeting cards size (4x6 or 5x7)

• either #1, 2, or 3 thin-point watercolor brush or a chinese brush,

• or a brush-pen (NOT felt-tip) for manga or calligraphy

• One larger size watercolor or chinese brush, no larger then #10

• any size liner pen or felt pen for writing

• any size liner pen or felt pen for writing

• three primary colors or any other three of your choice of european

• watercolor, chinese watercolor, or Ganzai Tambi​​
